Tote Bag Printing

A chance to create handprinted tote bags using wood block print techniques with artist and experienced teacher Catherine Carmyllie.

Programme

An adult class aimed at all abilities from total beginner through to those with some experience.

A fun and creative class with Liverpool Artist Catherine Carmyllie.

Students will see examples and watch a demonstration on how to use textile art techniques to decorate a cotton tote bag: hand paint, masking stickers, stencils, printing. Following this, there is a chance to choose a hand carved wood block and stamp a pattern onto their bag/ fabric base.

Students have something to take away and learn a new skill!

Artist tutor Catherine on hand to offer design tips and advice on how best to approach your design.

Suitable for 14+ years.

Tutor:

Catherine Carmyllie is a Liverpool based Artist currently working across painting and textile art. She completed a Textile Art degree at Huddersfield University before spending 6 months at The Arts and Crafts Academy of Kuopio, Finland where she had the opportunity to learn ancient Scandinavian skills such as bookbinding, weaving, feltmaking amongst others. Catherine regularly teaches workshops.

Materials

All materials are provided but attendees are welcome to bring their own materials and equipment that they wish to experiment with if they prefer (pillowcases, canvas tote bags, napkins, larger papers, wood base, etc).

Notes

There are a maximum of 12 places available on the course, so early booking is essential.

Cancellations / Refunds

Once you have made your course booking your are committed to it. This is because our courses have very small student numbers, and often sell-out and are unavailable to others. Therefore any cancellations may result in a place not being filled, or a course not being able to run.

Cancellations are permitted up to 30 days before the start of a course, and a full refund will be issued. Refunds will not be made for cancellations less than 30 days before the start of a course. If you are unable to attend due to illness, personal or professional commitments you do not have the right to a refund.

If you wish to cancel your place on a course that has not yet started and you have a friend or colleague who can take your place we can accommodate this substitution.
